School’s out, so let’s have fun! Sport, fun and games, and lots of adventures are waiting for you. To make sure you are not going to get bored in the coming six weeks, we have put together a Holiday Pass for 2023 as well.
There are four variations to choose from: The Ö+ Pass keeps you mobile with the Deutsche Bahn and the agillis in the Region Coburg. The Ö Pass lets you take the bus free. Anyone who has their own transport and doesn’t need a bus or train ticket and loves being in the water, should take the B Pass. The V Pass offers a wide range of small discounts.

Here of course. It is easy to apply and pay for your Holiday Pass online this year as well. There are just a few easy steps. If you are under 18, ask one of your parents to apply for the Holiday Pass with you.
If you already had a Holiday Pass in 2022, then it is particularly easy this year. Just wait until we contact you just before the summer holidays, and you can “extend” your Holiday Pass simply with a few clicks.
To apply for a new Holiday Pass you need:
a passport/portrait photo. You can upload that as a file directly, choose from the photo gallery on your smart phone, or even just take a selfie ... quick and easy!
For the Holiday Pass B, Ö or Ö+, you need a way of paying online, e.g. a PayPal account, credit card or bank account: payment is possible online with PayPal, VISA or Mastercard, or by direct debit from your bank account. You can’t do that? No problem. Simply come to us (see below) and pay in cash or by card, and you get a voucher code which you can use to apply online later.
That’s it. We will issue your Holiday Pass as soon as possible and then you can simply print it out yourself at home, load it onto your smartphone, or if you don’t have a printer or smartphone, we will send your Holiday Pass directly by post.
The easiest way to order your Holiday Pass is online! It takes only a few minutes and after we've reviewed you application, you'll be able to print your pass from home or load it directly into the Ferienpass app on your smartphone (available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store).
You can of course still apply for your Holiday Pass in the Office for Youth and Family of the Town of Coburg (administrative building Steingasse 18) or at the information desk in the Landratsamt (district administration), Lauterer Straße 60 (main entrance), as well as in the town halls in the towns and villages in the District of Coburg. If you apply in the office in Coburg, you can take a passport photo on the spot and you can also take your Pass with you afterwards. If you apply in the Landratsamt Coburg or in the town halls around the district, it is best if you take a photo with you. Your Holiday Pass will then be sent to you by post.
The Holiday Pass app
This year, the Holiday Pass is also available as an app for your smartphone. That means you always have your Holiday Pass at hand wherever you are. The “Ferienpass-App” is available in the App Store (Öffnet in einem neuen Tab) and in the Play Store (Öffnet in einem neuen Tab), and can be used with all common smartphones. If you can’t install the app from the App Store or Play Store, or don’t want to, you can also use our web app (Öffnet in einem neuen Tab) instead.
Who can get the Holiday Pass?
Children and young people up to the age of 18, people taking part in the Youth Volunteer Programmes (Bufdi, FSJ, FÖJ), students and trainees who are either resident in the Town or District of Coburg, or who has a parent/guardian resident there. If the above applies to you and you have a Youth Leader card (Juleica) or Volonteer Card (Ehrenamtskarte), then you can get the B, Ö or Ö+ Pass at a reduced price.
Anyone eligible for benefits under the education and participation package (Öffnet in einem neuen Tab) (Leistungen des Bildungs- und Teilhabepakets), can apply for a subsidy. Anyone eligible for those benefits in the Town of Coburg can get the cost of the Holiday Pass refunded, as can recipients of SGB II (Alg II) benefits in the Jobcenter Coburg Stadt (Hinterer Floßanger 10), anyone receiving asylum seeker benefits, housing benefit (Wohngeld) or supplementary child allowance (Kinderzuschlag) in the administrative building (Steingasse 18, Room No 305). Anyone eligible in the District of Coburg can get the application as recipients of SGB II (Alg II) benefits from the Jobcenter Coburg Land, as recipients of housing benefit (Wohngeld) or supplementary child allowance (Kinderzuschlag) from the Landratsamt Coburg, Ms Karatas, Room No 117 as well as from the town and communal administrations of the district.
Frequently asked Questions
Why should I apply for the Holiday Pass online? Simple. Because it is the fastest and easiest way. You don’t need to go anywhere, you just do it from your couch at home in 5 minutes.
What do I need for the online application? A passport/portrait photo that you already have saved on your smartphone or computer, eg in your photo gallery or that you just take with your phone or web cam. All that matters is that you are recognisable on it. For the Holiday Pass B, Ö and Ö+, you need a way of making an online payment as well. That is easy with PayPal, a credit card (VISA/Mastercard) or your bank account (direct debit). Are you under 16, or don’t have any way of paying online? Then just ask your parents to complete the application with you or come to us and buy the Holiday Pass at one of our issuing offices.
How fast do I receive my Pass? We process your application as fast as we can. Online is definitely the fastest way. There you get your Pass directly by email as soon as it is ready and then you can print it or load it onto your smartphone. In the Town of Coburg office, you can usually get your Pass right away too. If you are under 16, we need your parents' consent for this, otherwise you will have to come back a second time. In the District of Coburg you can apply for your Pass in person, but you get it by post. That can take a while, so ideally apply for it as soon as possible.
Do I need a PayPal account, or can I pay by direct debit or with a credit card? Yes, that is possible too. You don’t need a PayPal account. But during the payment process, still select PayPal. On the page after that you can then select payment directly by credit/debit card (Bankeinzug/Lastschrift in German). Then you enter your account or credit card details, and you can pay for the Holiday Pass like that.
Do I have to have a mobile phone, smartphone, a printer, a credit card, PayPal or a bank account? No. Just like every other year, the Holiday Pass can be used without any of those things and is just as easy as ever. You can load your Holiday Pass onto your smartphone, or just print it out at home. If you don’t want to do that, we can print it for you to use as always. You can also pay cash in person like before or online.
How does the Holiday Pass app work? How do I load the Holiday Pass onto my smartphone? It doesn't matter if you bought your Pass online, or in one of our issuing offices, or it was sent to you by post. Whenever you want, you can load your Holiday Pass onto your smartphone so you always have it with you. The “Ferienpass” app for Apple/IOS devices is in the App Store and for Android devices you will find it in the Google Play Store. Apart from that, our “Ferienpass” web app works on (almost) all devices. To load your Holiday Pass onto your smartphone, you need the Pass number and an access PIN. You will find both on the cover letter you received with your Holiday Pass. The app also explains exactly how it works.
Can I load my Holiday Pass onto several smartphones? Yes, you can. No problem.
Can I also register several Holiday Passes in the app? Yes, you can. Up to 5 Passes. That means not everyone needs to take a smartphone on a family day out.
Does my smartphone need a mobile data connection? Not usually. It is enough when you have an internet connection to load the app and the Pass. That can be your Wi-Fi at home. Then the app should also work without an internet connection (on most smartphones). Ideally, try it out by switching your phone to flight mode at home.
What happens if I lose my Holiday Pass or it gets destroyed? No problem. Print it out again at home or contact us and we will send it to you again.
Your question is not answered here? No problem. Simply write to us at ferienpasscoburgde or infokojade and we will be in touch.
